Прыжок, названный в честь норвежского фигуриста Акселя Паульсена, который является самым сложным из прыжков в фигурном катании. Вращение в нем совершается на пол-оборота больше. Это единственный из прыжков, исполняющийся с так называемого переднего хода. Приземление, как и в других прыжках, совершается на ход назад.

axel jump
Jump named after its Norwegian inventor, Axel Paulsen. It is the most difficult jump in figure skating as it has an extra half-turn. The only jump where the skater throws himself (herself) forward and then glides one step backwards to landing as in all jumps.
